Panagiotis Ioannou — That Macro Guy

Exploring the hidden world through macro photography — from spiders and insects to textures, light, and the small details most people walk past.

macro • wildlife • field observation

Hi! I'm Panagiotis, a macro and wildlife photographer based in Athens, Greece, with a strong focus on spiders, insects, natural textures, and the smaller moments most people pass by.

Since I was a kid I’ve been drawn to both photography and nature. Looking closer at the world reveals subjects, patterns, and behaviors that often go unnoticed unless you slow down and give them time.

Macro is where that curiosity found its place. My work is driven by patience, observation, and the belief that even the tiniest subjects can carry presence, character, and quiet intensity when photographed with care. I’m constantly chasing the right light — soft mornings, fading sunsets, and those brief moments where everything aligns just enough to reveal something special.

Outside the field, I’m also a developer — and somewhere between Middle-earth, Gotham, and Cybertron is where my imagination was built. That mix of precision, storytelling, and curiosity quietly shapes the way I approach my images.
